101 Things To Do In Fergus Falls and the surrounding area is an ongoing project put together by the Fergus Falls Chamber of Commerce. As you can see the list has not made it to 101 yet! We left it unfinished, not because there aren't 101 things to do, but because we really want your input. Please let us know what you do for Fun in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area! Click on the Submit a To Do button and fill out the form provided.
   
  1. Watch beans being roasted at Stumbeano's on a Thursday evening.
  2. Hike the 4 miles of trails at the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center.
  3. Catch an exhibit @ Otter Tail County Historical Museum
  4. Get cultured at Center for the Arts in downtown Fergus Falls.
  5. Enjoy local art exhibits at Kaddatz Galleries in downtown Fergus Falls
  6. Go tubing down the Otter Tail River
  7. Take riding lessons at The Red Horse Ranch Arena.
  8. Taste the signature menu items: ham & cheese omlette at The Viking, Buffalo Burger at Big Chief, cheese sauce at Don Pablo’s, try to eat A Deckert Burger at Dairyland
  9. Try to find the shortest highway in Minnesota, its only 4 miles long.
  10. Feed the geese at Lake Alice in Fergus Falls
  11. Visit Glendalough State park
  12. Drive through coffee – all locally-owned
  13. Public beach – Pebble Lake
  14. Frisbee golf at MSCTC
  15. Try a 180 kick flip at the Fergus Falls Skateboard park located at Roosevelt Park, but don't forget your helmet and pads.
  16. Experience Fergus Falls great outdoors by camping at DeLagoon recreation area. Only $5 a night for tents and $15 for campers.
  17. Take a guided tour at The Historic Kirkbride (218-736-5328) .
  18. Bike, walk, or blade the 55 miles of the Central Lakes Trail. Hop on at DeLagoon Park in Fergus Falls.
  19. Play in a softball league
  20. Host a neighborhood block party.
  21. Take a picture on the worlds biggest Otter at Grotto Park in Fergus Falls
  22. FRESH WATER – more lakes or lakeshore than any other county
  23. Commemorate history for those who have served by walking Veterans Walk of Flags beginning at Veterans Memorial Park.

  25. Take Golf Lessons at Pebble Lake Golf Course in Fergus Falls. Open to the public
  26. Take a class at the YMCA
  27. OLV Friday Fish Fry during Lent
  28. Thursday Samples at both Fergus Falls Municipal Liquor Stores.
  29. Clear your head with a stroll up and down the River Walk downtown!
  30. Watch the birds at Prairie Wetlands
  31. Research family, friends and relatives in the Otter Tail County Historical Museum archives.
  32. Ride over a 170 miles of groomed snowmobile trails in Otter Tail County.
  33. Throw a ball down the lanes at Northern Aire Lanes.
  34. Play some horseshoes at Broadway Park in Fergus Falls
  35. Tour the Ottertail County Recycling Center 
  36. Swim indoors year round in the MN shaped swimming pool at The Best Western Falls Inn and Suites.
  37. Take your kids to Home Depot for craft classes on the first Saturday of every month.
  38. Pedal Power it up at I94 BMX, Mon. and Thurs. at 7:00pm (summer)
  39. Take your kids fishing on The Otter Tail River.
  40. Belt out a tune at the Open Mike Night at The Spot Panini & Wine Bar.
  41. See how many different perennials you can identify along with River Walk downtown, maintained by the Fergus Falls Garden Club.
  42. Head downtown to one of the town's favorite coffee shops!
  43. Explore LAKE ALICE! Bike, rollerblade, walk or jog (1.2 miles from beginning to end) around this FF landmark! Don't forget bread or popcorn to feed the ducks and geese along the way!
  44. Go to the mall and check out the movie theater, the clothing stores, food stores & hair & nail salons.
  45. Pick your own strawberries or raspberries at Herzog Berries!
  46. Visit the Humane Society and play with the pets up for adoption.
  47. Visit Broken Down Damn or any of the city parks and consider the adopt a park program.
  48. Mow somebody elses lawn or do a good deed to help somebody out.
  49. Spend an afternoon visiting family or friends.... they may not be there when you have time, so take time.
  50. Go browsing the Salvation Army and Goodwill thrift stores for some fun vintage clothing.
  51. A girls group that I'm in meets at Applebee's 1-2 times a month at 9pm for their Buy 1 Get 1 Appetizer Special! We always close down the place! Plus it's a great deal when you have a group and it only costs about $3/person (we're young families on a budget)!
  52. Browse downtown Bookmark's beautiful used book store, it's comfortable and quiet.
  53. Pick up a yard of those fabulous vintage inspired fabrics from the Quilters Cottage and make some fun napkins for the dining table.
  54. Try your hand at making home-made jam with all the fruit available in the summer and fall and spread it on some of that fabulous bread from the Falls Baking Company.
  55. Spend a quiet afternoon reading your favorite book under a tree at Phelps Mill park listening to the water falling over the dam.
  56. Hike up to Inspiration Peak, the tallest point in Otter Tail County.
  57. Take a stroll through the leaves at Maplewood State Park as they change color on a bright sunny weekend day in September.
  58. Watch a soccer game at DeLagoon.
  59. Take a ride down Dayton Hallow dam. It's fun!
  60. Have a few cold ones with new (or old) friends at Mabel Murphy's.
  61. Golf!
  62. Eat Godfathers Pizza! Not available in some other areas of the country.
  63. Spending time at Lindig Farms each fall is a great tradition to start with your family! Pick the perfect pumpkin right from the vine, visit the animals and take a hayride around this gorgeous property.
  64. Take a tour of the old state hospital.
  65. Play hide-n-seek in Walmart.
  66. Surprised nobody mention Fergus' top shopping destination: Mills Fleet Farm!
  67. Check out the art exhibit at the Community College.
  68. Walk MS: Christopher & Banks Fergus Falls Walk presented by Anchor Bank
  69. Go Geocaching. www.geocaching.com for Fergus Falls listings.
  70. Enjoy the great selection of books at the Public Library.
  71. Go camping at Elks Point on Wall Lake
  72. Drop by "The Spot" for a glass of wine & a grilled panini.
  73. Go sledding at Old Smokey.
  74. Enjoy the sights & sounds at the West OtterTail County Fair in July.
  75. Attend a Hillcrest Lutheran Academy football game.
  76. Enjoy the many great activities at SummerFest each June in Fergus Falls
  77. Enjoy the delicious soups, salads & made-to-order sandwiches at Cafe' 116.
  78. Take your kids to the Fergus Falls Gymnastics Academy and let them tumble around.
  79. Try out cross country skiing at Spidahl's Ski Gaard or Glendalough State Park.
  80. Head to Bello Cucina for a wonderful, authentic Italian meal
  81. Pick up some fresh vegtables from Bluebird Gardens or fruit from Herzog Berries at one of the stands in town.
  82. Enjoy a Chai Tea & read a book at Somethin's Brewin'
  83. GO FISHING!
